Highlights

Hoa Lu and Tam Coc are two popular destinations for travelers seeking a traditional and cultural trip to North Vietnam. They are only 110 km from Hanoi, the capital, and it will take only 2.5 hours by bus to get there.

Hoa Lu was the ancient capital of Vietnam for 2 centuries (10th and 11th) under 3 dynasties. It is not only famous for its historical values but also for its topography. The small 300-hectare Kingdom was protected by a citadel and the Yen Ngua limestone hills.

There are rivers and mountains around, making it a great place for travelers to explore different landscapes. Let's get into the detailed itinerary!

Our tour guide will come to your hotel to pick you up. After half an hour of picking up time, at 8 am, our bus will start heading to Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel. We'll travel 120 km through a lush, verdant landscape. We will have a short break along the way to take in the magnificent scenery while regarding your energy.

Arriving at Hoa Lu at 10:30 am, you'll have a chance to explore this historical and cultural complex inside out. Hoa Lu Ancient Capital is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Trang An. The sediment's beauty and unique designs tell travelers how the capital was a millennium ago. The highlighted places on our itinerary are King Le Temple (Le Hoan) and King Dinh Temple (Dinh Tien Hoang), which replicate the original models established in the 11th century.

At noon, take a rest and have lunch. Our restaurant will serve you unforgettable, tasty local cuisines.

The next activity at 2 pm is taking a sampan boat trip. Locals row the boat and sail along the Ngo Dong River. Feel free to capture stunning beauty along both sides, including limestone mountains, rice fields, and local villages. We'll also pass the famous Three Grotto (Tam Coc): "Hang Ca," "Hang Hai," and "Hang Ba." The Grotto is a unified architectural ensemble of mysterious caves and attractive waterways.

The next destination is Mua Cave, shaped like an upside-down bell with steps leading to the highest peak.  You can go trekking to the peak of Ngoa Long Mountain to admire the panorama view of the whole area. While conquering 500 steps upwards, each stopping time will offer you unforgettable photos thanks to the diverse and colorful natural scenery.

You'll have 1 and a half hours for exploration before returning to Ha Noi. Our bus will take you back to your hotel at 8:30 pm.
