Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh City, is known as the Pearl of the Far East. Besides being a hustle and bustle city, Ho Chi Minh has more than 300 years of history, offering it historical, traditional, and cultural values. Travelers can discover many famous vestiges, renowned sights, and ancient architectural structures.
Our Half-day Saigon city tour will take you on a short journey through highlighted places in the city.
In the morning, we'll pick you up at your hotel to visit the Independence Palace, a famous historical attraction with historical value and unique architecture. The place witnessed remarkable changes in the nation's history from when the Norodom Palace was built by the French in 1868 until the North Vietnamese Army came and reunified the whole country.
The next destination is the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon. This landmark is a 19th-century architectural gem and the city's emblem. It draws travelers looking for holy places, historic grandeur, and picturesque locations for photos.
After that, we'll move to the Central Post Office. You'll find here a taste of neo-classical European architecture in a fusion with a sense of Asian ornamentation. It was designed in an extremely intricate arched construction, drawing the attention of all visitors.
Our tour continues with the War Remnants Museum. It's a must-see for anybody interested in learning about the US invasion of Vietnam and its catastrophic effects on civilians. There is an exhibit showing photos of the devastation caused by US napalm bombs and the harmful consequences of Agent Orange on Vietnamese civilians.
The last destination to visit in our half-day Saigon city tour is Jade Emperor Pagoda. There's no better place to understand the country's religion in this vibrant city than this place. Woodcarvings and elaborate tilework are obscured by the incense smoke, while Buddha and Taoist figures are made of paper mâché. All of this creates a solemn atmosphere.
After the pagoda visit, our bus will take you back to your hotel. We hope you have an interesting time!
